Studio Al Fresco
My New Front Yard Studio!
The life of a self-sustaining artist often involved sacrifices. Yet... sometimes what initially feels like a sacrifice can turn out to be a benefit. Take my new pop-up outdoor studio here. When we found our adorable bungalow, I realized two bedrooms was a tad small for 4 people including one artist and one musician. Yet, it turns out that the tree-shaded driveway makes a better studio than anything I have experienced inside. Today I did my first painting here, and I was entranced by the warm summer breezes and birds chirping. Plus there are no houses across the street, so I am just looking at trees (very inspiring). Of course, when winter comes, I will need to find an alternative. I am already looking into renting a space in the lively River Arts District. Why not be where the people (other than the mailman) stroll? We will have to see how this turns out.
